I spotted this duck one morning while walking in Penebel which is not far from where we live. Somehow she had been the only duck to escape and was walking up and down, talking to the other ducks in the pen behind her. Perhaps she was a messenger, bringing tidings from another flock :) Ducks are a ubiquitous feature of the rural Balinese landscape. They are charming little people, fussing and foraging and are used to help keep the rice fields free of weeds, snakes and other small creatures seen by farmers as vermin.
