One of the shared activities of rural village children is the making and flying of giant kites. This is actually a fairly small kite by Balinese standards but it is still huge compared with the heights of the kids. They are about to launch this kite; there is another boy 100m to the east. Note the rubber band stretched across the bow at the top. When in flight this makes a loud droning, whooping noise which is really very eerie late at night!
