John Grimes Short Bio for John

John was born in Canada but spends most of his time residing in Wellington, Florida and Bali, Indonesia. He enjoyed a global education gaining a BBA at York University in Toronto Canada before embarking on a successful career in business. Beginning with the Xerox Corporation he excelled in sales and marketing where he was honored with the coveted Presidents Club Award four years running. He then went on to join his father Philip and became CEO of the family business, Gemtex, a hi-tech manufacturer of industrial products with facilities in North America and Asia. The sale of Gemtex propelled Grimes to new endeavors. Relocating to Wellington, Fl. in order to pursue his passion for polo and dressage, he started Idlewild Stables gallery to promote equestrian inspired furnishing and objects d’art and the business has grown to include a tree farm and an event space. John has indulged the philanthropic side of his nature, supporting humanitarian and environmental projects in America and Asia. Recently raising over $10,000 for women and children’s charities in East Timor.
