This screen is typical of the International Rescue style of presentation. The function of the various types of button soon becomes intuitive and although there is a lot of information on this 640 x 480 screen, the layout isn't intimidating. This system has been very well received by the users and is expected to be in use for upwards of 10 years. It has been written in FoxPro for Windows v2.6a. The target machines vary between 166Mhz Pentium and 750Mhz Plll's; the EXE Program file and the data reside on their network server and is constantly in use by upwards of a dozen people at a time.

The advantage of a well laid out screen is that it increases productivity in the users of the system by engaging their interest and presenting an 'approachable face'. The Yellow magnifying glass push-buttons initiate searches and the long, flat pushbuttons 'pop-up' a multi-choice window to fill their respective fields as seen below:

User's access rights are automatically checked after logging into the system.
