| Dhani and the Gameboy Advance |
| |
|
When Gloria visited Dhani in the afternoon following his first operation, she found him
playing with the only toy available; a rubber band. When she visited the following morning he was still playing with it.
She told Maria this and so Maria called two of the donors, Lotte and Steve in Ibiza and asked whether they would object to
some of their donation going towards a computer game so he'd have something to distract him from his pain and the other
patients on his ward (all seriously ill adults). The Gameboy Advance also has the added benefit of helping in the physical
therapy of his hands.
When we arrived and swapped the Gameboy for Dhani's rubber band, he was instantly intrigued and played with it solidly for
the rest of our 1½ hour visit. Thank you Steve, Lotte and Maria for this invaluable and highly suitable gift! |
