In May 2007, Dhani and his father Achmad, a travelling salesman, were involved in a motorbike accident in the village of Air Sanih in the north of Bali. His father's leg was crushed and the bike's tank was split, covering Dhani in petrol which subsequently ignited. 

Dhani suffered horrendous 3rd degree burns from his mouth down to his knees. His lower face, ears, chest, top of his legs, hands & arms remain severely damaged a year later. 

His injuries remain painful and are prone to reinfection. He is a lovely boy - bright, kind and sensitive and we were very pleased to meet him in April 2008.
